Welder

A welder is a skilled professional who uses different welding techniques to join metal parts together. Welders work in a variety of industries, including construction, manufacturing, aerospace, automotive, and repair. A welder's duties may include:

1. Read blueprints and engineering drawings to determine appropriate welding methods.
2. Prepare the surfaces to be welded by cleaning, pickling or polishing them.
3. Select the appropriate welding materials based on the type of metal to be welded and the welding method used.
4. Configure and adjust welding equipment, such as arc welders, MIG welders, TIG welders or plasma welders.
5. Assemble parts using different welding techniques, such as spot welding, arc welding, TIG welding or MIG welding.
6. Perform non-destructive tests to ensure the quality of welds, such as X-ray, penetrant or magnetic particle testing.
7. Make repairs to damaged parts using proper welding techniques.
8. Maintain work logs and maintenance records.
9. Adhere to safety standards and safety protocols at all times.
10. Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as pipefitters, mechanics or engineers to complete projects.
