Industrial Mechanic

An industrial mechanic is a trained professional who works in the maintenance and repair of industrial machinery and equipment. Industrial mechanics work in various industries such as manufacturing, automotive, aerospace, agriculture, and the food industry. The duties of an industrial mechanic may include:

  8. Use computers and diagnostic software to help identify mechanical problems and to plan maintenance tasks.
  9. Install new equipment and machinery by performing commissioning tests and adjustments to ensure equipment is functioning properly.
  10. Write maintenance reports and data sheets to document the tasks performed and the parts replaced.
